Hi,
I'm student of directing from Polish National Filmschool in Lodz. I'm
shooting this summer in Bulgaria.

I would like rent a camera (HDV) from PLOVDIV for few days. Do You know any contact? What is price for 3-4 days in Bulgaria for it?

Wellcome in the forum of Bulgarian cameramen (DoPs as well)! And wellcome in Bulgaria also!
I can offer you two choices in Plovdiv:

1. SONY PMW-EX1 (XDCAM EX) - 1920x1080 or 720p resolution, 24/25p, full equipment for 350 Bulgarian leva per day (approx. 280 USD or 180 Euro per day) that includes:
the camera itself with 2 x 8GB SxS cards, HD camera-monitor (1920x1080 full res.), pro-tripod, 2 batteries, charger, wide angle convertor SONY 0.8, Petroff Mattebox, Petroff Follow focus, support rods system, handheld support system, Azden SGM1X gun-mic, boom with XLR cables.
If you need, you can have also: a camera crane, a dolly, steadicam "Slideman", bluebox/greenbox color separation portable system "DataVideo" CKL100, large greenscreen Rosco, SONY VAIO laptop with Adobe Premiere CS3 supporting the camera format. Please keep in mind that you cannot hire the equipment without a technician - "ninja" (which is a DoP/Cameraman as well and you can hire him if you have no DoP, Cameraman or Camera Assistant).

2. JVC HD110 (HDV) for 200 Bulgarian leva per day (approx. 160 USD or 100 Euro per day), including a pro-tripod, 2 batteries and charger. Again - you cannot hire without a technician-ninja.

You can use also a car with a driver for 70 Bulgarian leva per day (approx. 55 USD or 36 Euro per day).
I can offer you also a Depth of Field 35mm Lens Adaptor "Brevis" (Cinevate) - full bundle, with 2 Nikon lenses (Nikkor 50/1.4 and Nikkor 85/1.8 ).

It' s very nice offer, but I'm looking for something simplier and, what is important, without crew - for short documentary student film. SONY Z-1 with Sennheiser 64 would be ok. Is possible rent it in Plovdiv?

Unfortunately there is no Z1 in Plovdiv (if there was such I should have known about it) Please keep in mind that in Bulgaria you can have almost everything related to moviemaking or videoproduction but only in Sofia!

Another important thing is that in Bulgaria you can never have a camera or another equipment hired without a technician.

Anyway, I could find a Z1 and bring it in Plovdiv, the price would be 240 Bulgarian leva (approx. 120 Euro) including the tech-person.
